SDS1000X-E processing power (brute force) is higher than more expensive SDS1000X/X+ series.

This make possible advanced 1Mpts FFT. In SDS1000X it is 16k (with newest FW) what is still much better than under 2k.

Image

Behind SDS1000X-E data processing power is Xilinx Zync 7000 (possible XC7Z020)

But, this do not make SDS1000X/X+ obsolete at all. Also SDS1000X and X+ have 8" display. They are still as good as they have been. Specially if look oscilloscope as oscilloscope without all-in-one bells and whistles SDS1000X/X+ is far over competitors (in price class) with some quite unique features.

Measured:

500uV/div is really full bandwidth. -3dB point is over 200MHz
50mV/div -3dB point is well over 200MHz

Normal mode:
Wfm/s maximal short peak speed I have found is 100kwfm/s
Wfm/s maximum average speed is 88kwfm/s
Image

Sequence mode:
Maximum guaranteed speed 480kwfm/s
(using 50ns/div, signal 100ns pulses, frequency 480kHz, mode burst n pulses n=45526. Oscilloscope set for 45526 segments. (max with this 50ns/div)
Tested running this 30 times. No any single missed pulses.
Image

Tested: SDS X-E use full 14Mpoints data for automatic measurements when 14M is currently in use.
This is very unique in this price class.

Signal is this.

As can see it can still keep risetime and width measurements.
In this price class and with 14M memory or more, there is no other scope what can do this, not even close.
